Lesson -1 STROKES What are the strokes? Strokes are types of lines and curves which is the first lesson in the Nursery class we introduce to kids. Why do we start with this lesson? Kids motor and cognition skills are not developed so the first time when they come to school and while teaching them writing skills we cannot start directly with the alphabets writing because of it will become difficult for them to write or they will lack their interest in the writing. Fear will be developed in their mind for writing skills. So this is the reason we start with strokes i.e. types of lines and curves which includes : A)   Standing lines ( I ) B)    Slanting lines (/ or C)    Sleeping Lines D)   Up curves E)     Down curves Kids draw these lines with keen interest and it helps in improving their motor skills which prepare them for learning writing skills.
